Status:Active, not currently accepting new members
Group email: French (Advanced) on Zoom group
When: Weekly on Fridays 10:30-12:15

A typical session would include discussing a French film we have all watched during the week (188, so far), talking about a theme chosen in advance which members have researched independently (e.g. topical social and political issues, historical events, news items), reading short stories (classic and contemporary) for enjoyment and vocabulary acquisition.

Now and again, each one of us gives a presentation on a theme (e.g. a painter, a town, an actor, a historical character, a building) or on aspects of a theme (e.g. The French Renaissance: literature, architecture, history, music, science). We have covered a vast range of topics (from Charlemagne, to Pascal, the Dreyfus case and French colonialism).

Eclectic, cultural and always great fun, in spite of all the “homework” and commitment required... the group currently has some space, so if you're interested, please get in touch!
