Having served as a magistrate for around seven years since retiring, Dr Tony Hersh will share a selection of real-life cases from the magistrates’ court in this thought-provoking and interactive talk. Audience members will be invited to consider each case and decide what they believe would be an appropriate sentence before Tony reveals what the magistrates actually decided – and, importantly, why. Expect lively discussion, differing opinions and perhaps a little controversy along the way!
