Are you curious about your family history?

Then come along and see what we are getting up to. We have an exciting programme of events planned and anyone is welcome to join us, whether you have already done some research or are maybe considering this. There is an illustrated presentation each month and plenty of time to ask questions, an update on what's new in the family history world and we share items of interest such as forthcoming exhibitions and free online talks.  There are also opportunities for members to ask for help with any "brick walls" or to share any discoveries they have made.

The group has been out and about to family history shows and recently members enjoyed a visit to The Swindon and Wiltshire Record Office in Chippenham where we were able to have an amazing private insight into the types of records that can be found, not only at this Record Office but all around the country. The team showed us a selection of items including maps, asylum records and baptism and marriage registers.  We even went inside one of the strong rooms where we were shown original letters from Oliver Cromwell and a land transaction with the Royal seal of King Richard the Lionheart!

This is a friendly and supportive group and we welcome anyone who has an interest in genealogy - there is something for everyone. Come and give us a try.
